On the 1st May 2019 Charlton Horethorne Primary School become an academy and joined the Sherborne Area Schools’ Trust (SAST). The school became the first primary school in Somerset to join SAST.
The Sherborne Area Schools’ Trust (SAST) was formed in June 2017, and has now grown to include 13 schools across North and West Dorset and South Somerset. We currently have circa 3,400 students and we employ over 550 staff.
SAST believes there is real strength in coming together with a collective responsibility for all of the children’s development and progress between 0-19 years. The Trust believes in preserving schools in their local community and providing considerable local expertise to support Charlton Horethorne Primary School.
