Charlton Horethorne is a small, rural school at the heart of the local community in a beautiful Somerset village where we learn together in friendship and faith to give us ‘life in all its fullness’ John 10:10
We have three classes; Ladybird: EYFS and Year 1; Bee: Year 2 and Year 3 and Dragonfly Years 4,5 and 6. Our classes are led by experienced teachers who are supported by skilful teaching assistants to support all children with their learning.
In our school we believe that every child is special and our pupils are valued and nurtured by hardworking, caring and dedicated staff. We believe that children learn best when they are happy and stimulated to learn. The school prides itself on supporting all children in the classroom and on providing opportunities for children to take part in a range of out of school activities. We run various sports clubs throughout the year and participate in local sports competitions. In addition the children have the opportunity to join our after school enrichment clubs. We undertake a number of visits during the school year including a residential visit for Year 5 and 6 to Kilve activity centre where children can experience a series of adventurous activities and have great fun!
Everything we do is underpinned by our Christian vision and values, which creates a very caring, supportive environment. We have a well-earned reputation for being a “family” school where every child is treated with respect and encouraged to value themselves and those around them.
