Road Safety Week
Last week in school we were learning about Road Safety, as part of the National Road Safety Week.
The younger children ventured out on a Welly Walk and were able to practice crossing the road safely. We reinforced where is a safe place to cross and how to check the road to ensure it is clear. We said ‘Stop, Look and Listen’ a lot of times! Hopefully they are all much more aware of potential dangers. We were also joined by the wonderful Chelsea, our School Crossing Patrol. She explained how she helps adults and children to cross the road carefully. We had lots of thoughtful questions, especially about her super uniform. We want to be bright, be seen!
Meanwhile, the children in KS2 were joined by Des and Lawrence from the British Horse Society, they came to discuss the ‘Henry Horse’ campaign, aimed at improving road safety for horses and riders. As we have so many young riders, our children were very interested and asked thoughtful and reflective questions. Please follow the link if you would like to find out more…
